PYO Minutes from Meeting on February 7, 2007

Secretaries Report:  was read.  Dave S. made the motion to accept the minutes with the change from the girl’s softball tournament from July 25th- 20th to July 25th – 29th, Gary P. 2nd.

 

Treasurers Report:   Gary P. made the motion to accept, Wayne B. 2nd.

 

In March we vote on by-law changes.  There was some proposals made, but was decided that the changes were not by-law changes.

 

There was also discussion when Don Bogatz decides to quit.

 

There was discussion on basketball try-outs.  They need to be done earlier and not so drawn out and try not to have so many kids on one team.

 

At the Girl’s basketball tournament a 3 year old child pulled the fire alarm. The PYO was charged $212.00.  The PYO decided to pay the bill and not try to go after the family.

 

There has been a lot of discussion on the PYO having their own website. Steve Armstrong is willing to get it up and going and to maintain it.  The cost is $166.00.  Diane P. made the motion for $166.00 the get the website up and going, Todd G. 2nd.  The website will be PulaskiYouth.org. 

 

The PYO will not be billed by the schools for any of the building use during our basketball tournaments.

 

Dave S. made the motion to donate $250 to ABVM for the use of their facilities during the boy’s basketball tournament.  Tina W. 2nd.

 

There was also discussion on doing something for the custodians.  They do so much for us during the tournaments we would like to thank them.  Kevin will talk to Butch R. to find out what we could do.

 

The dates are finalized for the baseball tournaments.

 

Al Halla met with the Village President, was ok with the proposal for the batting cages.  We need to get the final pricing and plans and the village board needs to approve it.

 

The school district is putting in new Card Readers to enter the buildings.  The PYO will receive as many cards as we need.  The school will know who has the cards and the card will be read every time someone tries to or does enter the buildings.

 

Wayne B. made the motion for the girl’s softball for the ages to be: 10 & Under, 12 & under, 14 & Under, 16 & Under and 18 & Under.  Todd G. 2nd.

 

The Optimist to agree to have the teams sanctioned for the Cal Ripken Organization.  The cost for the insurance is $660/$13.00 per child playing.  We will table this until next meeting when we know more.

Donna May would like to have flyers made up and sent out to the schools for more information about the PYO.  She volunteered to do it.  Renae will e-mail her the information.

 

There was also discussion on kids wearing their uniforms to school.  Coaches the players are not allowed to practice or wear their uniforms to school.

The next meeting is Wednesday March 7th at 7:00 in the PACE office located at Glenbrook School.
