PYO Minutes from Meeting on March 7, 2007

Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm

Secretaries Report: was read Andy V. made the motion to accept, Todd G. 2nd.

Treasurers Report: was read Gary P. made the motion to accept, Gary N. 2nd.

Baseball
Cal Ripken:
It is all approved and now it is in the coaches hands. The individuals will incur the cost of the insurance.

Try outs for baseball and softball can be anytime after April 1st - we do need to wait until the basketball season ends.

We will keep the umpire same:
$30 - behind the plate
$25 - in the field

We do need people with their beverage server's license for our tournaments this summer. Some names were given, we will see if they still have them.

Gary N. made the motion to purchase 15 new softball uniforms for the 10 & under team. Last year they bought T-shirts. Dave S. 2nd. Wayne Butz will purchase the uniforms.

Batting Cage:
Al Halla had 3 different proposals, prices ranging from $17,000 - $25, 000. We will look into other organizations to help contribute. Al will talk to Keith Chambers to see if the village will help. There was also discussion on maybe waiting with the batting cage to see what will happen with the bleachers. Al will also look into this.

Andy V. is a village resident he volunteered to go to a village meeting and see what the village will do about the bleachers.

There was also discussion on if baseball players need to play with their age group. Yes they do need to play with their own age group.


Softball coaches that were added:
18 & Under - Andy Basten
16 & Under - John Keys

Flag Football
There are questions to whether or not the PYO will be involved with flag football. Bill Crouse and PACE would like to take care of it all. We will talk more on this at the next meeting.

Basketball
There was once again discussion on when to have try - outs for basketball and how to divide teams.

There will be a commissioners meeting in June or July for all commissioners.

Kevin talked to Bruce R. about doing something for the custodians for all of their help during our basketball tournaments. Kevin and Bruce decided that Butch would do something for them and then just send the bill to the PYO.
