PYO Minutes from Meeting on July 2, 2008

 

Members in attendance:  Gary Przybylski, Diane Przybylski, Renae Bliese, Kevin Bliese,  Traci Budz, Wayne Kaczrowski, Todd Gutzman, Jon Lemin, Keith and Lori Jensen, Sharon Brabender, Steve Armstrong, Dave Tomashek, Mike Zablocki, Rich Hunkins, Andy Doersch, Tom Folk, Tina Watermelon, Gary Naparalla.

 

Secretaries Report:  was read. Motion to accept, seconded.  Motion carried.  

 

Treasurers Report:  was read.  The donation check from Dean’s distributing for $2836.04 has been received.  Kevin B. made a motion to accept, Wayne K. seconded.  Motion carried. 

 

ScholarshipsThank you’s received from Brooke Basten, Jessica Kropp, and Zack Zablocki were read.  All five recipients have sent thank you’s.

 

Softball and Baseball –Concession Stands – 1st Boy’s tournament and girl’s tournament coordinators are identified.  Last boy’s tournament no one has stepped up.  Coaches and commissioner will be notified that they need to find someone or have no concessions.  Tina to check with the soccer program to move the soccer concession stand to the Middle school diamonds for use during the tournaments. Beverage license in and paid. Sheila McDermid, Joe Adamski and Gary Karcz Jr. will be beverage servers. 

 

Consequences for failure to work concessions were discussed.  After considering many options, a motion was made by Tina W. and seconded by Renae B. “Each member of a PYO team must provide 2 workers ages 14 or older to work their scheduled shift at the concession stand or find a suitable replacement.  If their shift is not covered, the child will not be allowed to participate in any PYO activities (including upcoming season activities) until a $150 fine has been paid.”  Motion carried.  Tina to draft a letter to give to all parents with the concession schedule. 

 

Northwest Designs is doing t-shirts again.  Need all teams signed up for the Pulaski tournaments to submit rosters that we can get to Northwest.  Sales increase dramatically when the team rosters are printed on the clothing.  Tournament directors are in charge of this.  Note will go out to coaches to contact the teams.

 

Gator and field conditioner purchase or rental was discussed.  Rich H. reported that Riesterer does not have one to rent.  Traci Budz agreed to rent their 4 wheeler.  Motion made by Todd G., seconded by Tina W. to pay the Budz’s $500 total for rental for the 3 weekend tournaments.  Motion carried.  Gary P. will check with Mae Micolichek as a back up.

 

Park clean up date Tuesday July 15 at 5:00 pm.  All coaches, team members and parents plan to attend.  No practices scheduled that night so all players can participate in the clean up. 

 

Rich Hunkins reported that the village fee for non residents is still $5.  Tina indicated that 3 parents over paid and she will take care of reimbursing them. 

 

Discussed painting the bathrooms at the park.  Ted Matuszak to bring up on the village board agenda.  PYO will donate materials and labor to complete.

 

Code of Conduct – Diane P. reviewed proposed changes to the codes of conduct. 

Coaches:  Add lines under game day and other responsibilities: 

 

 

Parents:  Revise line 15 to read: If a problem does arise with your child’s coach, I agree to contact the commissioner of that sport not the coach directly and to fill out an Incident Report using the form available on the PYO website within 30 days of the incident.

 

Motion made by Diane P. and seconded by Kevin B. to bring these changes to a vote of the membership at the August meeting.

 

Sharon B. made a motion to adjourn.  Rich H. seconded.  Motion carried.

After the meeting, the basketball coach volunteers met to discuss changes to the Pulaski tournament and develop a game plan for signing up for tournaments.
