PYO Minutes from Meeting on Dec. 3, 2008

Secretaries Report:  was read. Motion by Gary N. to accept, seconded by Keith J.  Motion carried.  

Treasurers Report:  was read. Motion by Gary N. to accept, seconded by Keith J.

Basketball:

Pulaski Tournaments: discussed concessions details and meetings to slot the pools for the tournament. 

PYO Night – Motion made by Diane P., seconded by Rich H. to pay for the ½ of the food for both nights.  The Booster Club will pay the other ½.  Motion carried.  Wearing of uniform tops to this event was approved.

There was better attendance by the BB coaches at the meeting.  It is a requirement that all coaches or a representative attend all PYO meetings during their season. 

Gym sign ups conducted after the meeting.

Softball and Baseball:

Anyone interested in coaching softball or baseball for the 2009 season needs to submit their name by/at the Jan. 7, 2009 PYO meeting.  Selection/approval will take place by the board at the Feb. 4 PYO meeting.

New Business:

Request made to contact Mel Lightner about use of the gyms after games.  Gary Przybylski – President agreed to contact him.

Plan Ahead – Officers and Commissioners

In February we elect new Basketball Commissioners.  This is a two year term.  Both Todd Gutzman for Boys and Diane Przybylski for Girls are not planning on running again as their children will be leaving the basketball program.  If you are interested, please submit your name to Gary Przybylski – President by the Jan. 7^th PYO meeting.

In February, we will take nominations for new officers.  These are 1 year terms.  Some of the officers are not planning to run again due to their children leaving the PYO system.  Please consider running for an office.  Elections are in March.

In March, we will take nominations for new board members.  These are 2 year terms and you are required to attend at least 2/3rds of the PYO meetings to be a board member.  We will be electing 3 or 4 board members this year.

Motion made by Jay R. and seconded by Todd G. to adjourn.  Motion carried. Next meeting Jan. 7 at 7:00 pm in Social Studies Resource Center at the high school.
