PYO Minutes from Meeting on April 1, 2009

Secretaries Report: was read. Motion by Gary N. to accept, seconded by Kevin B. Motion carried.
Treasurers Report: was read. Motion by Tom R. to accept, seconded by Gary N. Motion carried.
Scholarships: The committee recommended four scholarships @ $400 each. Motion made by Gary N., seconded by Mitch B. to accept the proposal. Motion carried. They will be presented by Diane Przybylski at PHS on May 20 during the honors/scholarship ceremony.
Board Member Elections: Chris Karcz, Keith Jensen, Wayne Kaczowski and Jay Robaidek were elected to the board. Thank you to all who expressed interest in these positions.
Basketball: The team selection guidelines, etc. were reviewed. We decided to postpone any decisions on changes until after the meeting with the schools is held regarding improving the Pulaski Basketball program. Jay Robaidek will be setting up open gyms for players in 4-6 grades once per week.
Softball and Baseball:
o Park – Commission will be repairing the poles and the pitching protector in the batting cage. PYO to inspect the nets on April 4 during the equipment swap and concession stand clean up.
o Coaches are to collect the new $10 fee prior to giving out uniforms. Checks made out to PYO are preferred.
o Gyms – Diane P. will continue to book gyms for PYO teams, all other groups or individuals should make requests directly to Courtney VanBoxtel.
o Gator/Groomer – Motion made by Pat M., seconded by Mitch B. to purchase the groomer with the PGSA and Optimists. PYO will pay 1/3 of the $2824 price. Motion carried.
o Supplies – Baseball players will be buying their own hats and socks as needed this year, softball will buy their own visors and socks.
o Uniforms – Motion made by Kevin B., seconded by Todd G. to purchase 10 cardinal baseball uniform tops. Motion carried. Tina to bring forward any additional uniform needs.
o Girl’s softball pitching machine was discussed. We decided to hold off on this purchase if the PGSA will let the teams use their 3 machines. (Many PYO coaches, coach in PGSA) Gary P. to confirm with Tim Sheedy.
o Pony league playoffs will be hosted by PYO this year on July 13 and 14.
o Lime supply for the Red’s diamond needs to be replenished. Red’s paid for all of it last year. PYO will supply some this year – ordering when the rest is ordered for the park diamonds.
o Pat M. will go over the preparation of the Red’s diamond with Zack Zablocki.
o Red’s will be resurfacing the diamond after the season this year. They would like the PYO to consider a donation.
o Bases are needed for diamond B – Tina to work with Todd G. to get ordered.
o In May – identify concession coordinators.
New Business:
Weight Room: PHS has proposed borrowing $120,000 to outfit the school weight room with better equipment to expand its use for students and open it to the general public. $13,300 each for 5 years will be provided by the school. They are looking for the same amount in donations from local organizations. Kevin B. made motion to donate $2000 per year for 5 years. Todd Stiede seconded. Vote next month on the motion.
Finances: Rich H. made a motion to move all PYO money into one account vs. two. Kevin B. seconded. Motion carried.
Motion made by Tina W. and seconded by Wayne K. to adjourn. Motion carried. Next meeting May 6 at 7:00 pm in Social Studies Resource Room at the high school.
