PYO Minutes from Dec. 2, 2009

Baseball/Softball:  Discussed the sponsor banners for the diamonds that will help fund this effort.  Jay brought a sample.  They will be 3’ x 5’ and will cost $150 plus an annual renewal fee.  The money will be managed be the Friends of the Village Park committee for use in improving the parks.  Freshman baseball players will be able to try out for the JV summer team.  Open gyms for baseball will be held on Sundays in January.  Baseball coaching clinic will be held in March.  Discussion was held if we could add an extra day (Thurs.) to the Aug. baseball tournament.  This should be ok as long as we have enough fundraising days to spare.  Submitted coaches were reviewed by the board after the general meeting and the following approvals were made.

Basketball:

Kim C. has stepped up to coach the second 5^th grade team.  Voted on the motion from Nov. to donate $500 to the Girls Basketball Hoops club for services provided by the girls for scorekeeping.  Coach Shaw held a coaches clinic – 3 coaches attended.  Many of the coaches attended the Bill Collar presentation at the high school as well.  A motion was made by Todd Stiede, seconded by Jay to make a donation of $500 to the boys basketball Hoops Club.  Discussion was held.  Motion was not approved.  A meeting will be held before Christmas with the concession coordinators and coaches for the girls tournament.

New Business:  Send a thank you to Mike Schus, Shane Wood and McKeefry for the donation of time and equipment to the diamond improvement project.  Secretary to take care of.
