PYO Minutes from Sept. 1, 2010

After the regular meeting the board made decisions on Lead Coaches:

4^th Girls – Terry Brockman dropped out based on Boy’s Commitment, Julie VanLannen lead.

5^th Boys – Terry Brockman first coach, Keith Jensen second coach, Jennifer Steichen approved to help or take a third team if needed.

7^th Grade – No decision needed due to change in Boys Basketball format.

The Board also decided on the Boys Baseball Commissioner for the next two years – Jon Lemin.

The Board Members presented several options to fund the basketball program this year under our limited funding situation.  After much discussion the following was approved by the members in attendance…

Girls – Coach Doell will continue to work with the PYO to support the Jr Red Raiders and the Tournament team programs.  He will add more NWGBL weekends at all age levels and add a 7^th and 8^th grade level to the program to give the girls more game time.  PYO will run the tournament in January and keep the funds.  PYO will pay for 2 tournaments plus Pulaski for 4^th and 5^th grade and 3 tournaments plus Pulaski for 6-8^th grade.

Boys – 2010-2011 will be a transition year to a Coach Shaw led program.  Coach Shaw will take over the 6-8^th program.  He will have total control over the coaches, format, etc.  PYO will provide uniforms for the teams formed at this level and the existing large basketballs used in 7^th and 8^th grade.  PYO will pay for 3 tournaments plus Pulaski for grades 3-5.  PYO will run the “A” tournament and ½ of the net proceeds will go to Coach Shaw’s program and ½ to PYO.  Coach Shaw will run a “B” level tournament with all proceeds going to his program.  Pulaski teams may enter one of these two tournaments at no entry cost.
